Amarnath Cave

A Fusion of Nature's Beauty and Spiritual Power

The Amarnath Cave, also known as the Amarnath Temple or the Cave of Shiva, is a holy shrine located in the Indian Himalayas, revered by Hindus. Every year, thousands of Hindu pilgrims undertake the Amarnath Yatra, a pilgrimage to the Amarnath Cave. The Yatra typically takes place from June to August, coinciding with the period when the ice lingam is formed. The journey is considered to be a challenging but spiritually rewarding experience. One of the most fascinating aspects of the Amarnath Cave is the naturally occurring ice lingam. Every year, a stalagmite of ice forms inside the cave, which is revered as a representation of Lord Shiva. The ice lingam is believed to grow and shrink with the phases of the moon, reaching its peak size on the full moon day of Shravan (typically in July or August).
